Legacy Custom Steel Homes believes in using the latest technologies to deliver beautiful, durable, homes. This starts with a custom steel frames in all of our builds. Our composite panel building system uses cold formed steel and EPS to create a custom framing solution for your home that is lighter, stronger and more cost effective than traditional lumber construction.

Steel is highly durable in even the most extreme environmental circumstances. It is also mold and termite resistant providing a low-maintenance solution.

Metal vs. Shingle Roofs

Metal roofs provide unmatched durability in even the most extreme conditions with lifespans between 40 - 70 years! While asphalt shingles are prone to pooling water, sagging, ice dams, and temperature spikes, metal roofs can take whatever Mother Nature throws at it.

Metal roofs are highly sustainable as they are often made with recycled materials and can be recycled again and again. Their reflective qualities block heat transmission into the home making them an eco-friendly option and reducing your utility bills.

Metal roofs can even be manufactured to mimic slate, wood shake, and tile roofs!

PEX vs. Copper Water Lines

The price of copper pipes has risen exponentially and their popularity for home water systems has given way in part to flexible pipes made of cross-linked polyethylene pipes or "PEX" for short.

Copper pipes are rigid and therefore must be cut to size and have elbow fittings installed whenever it reaches a corner. PEX piping is flexible and can run continuously without additional fittings from source to terminus. PEX also provides a central shutoff at the water main with individual shutoff valves for each plumbing fixture.

Tankless vs. Tank Water Heaters

Tankless water heaters use high-powered burners to quickly heat water as it runs through without storing it in the tank which makes them, on average, 22% more energy efficient than traditional hot water tanks resulting in lower utility bills while delivering hot water to you faster.

Tankless water heaters are small and can be installed in close quarters, eliminating the need for a separate utility room and increasing the flexibility of your floorplan.

Tankless water heaters also have twice the lifespan of of traditional hot water tanks, lasting 20-30 years!
